Rigi Hochflue
Viewpoint
· Central Switzerland
The Hochflue (1,698 m) in the canton of Schwyz is the highest of the three towering peaks of the Rigi massif. There are various railways leading to Scheidegg and Kulm, but Rigi Hochflue must be tackled on foot.
The Alpine hiking trail can be accessed either via the Gätterli Pass (from Rigi Scheidegg/Burggeist or Lauerz) or via Urmiberg. Good footwear and mountain hiking experience are a must.
Depending on the trail, you may also require a mountain climbing experience. The trail is dotted with steep ladders and rocks from Egg/Urmiberg onwards. However, the view from the Hochflue is definitely worth the effort. An unbelievable 360° panoramic view lets you gaze miles into the distance.
