Along the Muota

This quiet winter hiking trail is bordered by the Muota torrent on one side and agricultural land on the other. It is not signposted, but easy to find.

Who arrives by bus, starts at the bus stop "Vordere Brücke". If you come by car, park at the Rambach. The path always runs on the dam. To the left the Muota torrent gurgles, to the right the eye glides over the flat valley floor used by the farmers for agriculture. The mountains rise in the background and you can imagine why Muotathal is one of the ten largest municipalities in Switzerland in terms of area. After about an hour you reach the village of Muotathal and its cosy inns. Return to the starting point on the same path on foot or by bus.
